Bench notes
- The physics
- Every point on the sheet carries two kinds of displacement: one that springs back when you let go and one that stays. Dragging feeds both; smoothing collapses the permanent part toward a floor it never quite reaches. That floor is the whole idea: creases have memory.
- The sound
- Synthesized in the browser, no recordings: tiny grains of filtered noise fired as the sheet deforms, each one a slightly different pitch and length. Paper protest, built from static.
- The lesson
- There isn't one. It's paper. Crumple it.
